ESS Coordinator Positions Still Open

If you’re the kind of person that enjoys getting involved and are looking for some volunteer experience, the Engineering Students’ Society (ESS) still has several unfilled coordinator positions for the 2013-2014 school year. Some of these positions include Sports Coordinator, as well as numerous events coordinator positions. Feel free to come by the ESS front desk (next to Tim Horton’s in ETLC) to pick up an application form, or download the pdf file if you’re interested.

International Student Energy Summit

The International Student Energy Summit (ISES) is the world’s largest energy conference for students. ISES aims to educate students about the current global energy system and inspire them to take on the challenge of creating a sustainable future. This year, ISES will take place on June 13^th in Trondheim, Norway, where 500 students from 50 nations will come together to discuss and solve the future energy crisis, and important step towards a sustainable global society. Shell Enhanced Learning Fund

If you’re interested in sustainable energy and the environment, then consider applying to the Shell Canada Enhanced Learning Fund (SELF). SELF is a program supported by Shell Canada Limited that provides funding to students hoping to participate in various learning experiences, such as attending conferences, individual or team field trips, student projects, and networking opportunities. Students (full-time or part-time) as well as student clubs, teams, and associations are invited to apply. For more information about the program and application process, click here .

Opportunity to Volunteer with APEGA

APEGA is looking for volunteers under the age of 35 to be part of a task force responsible for outlining names and criteria for awards recognizing members under the age of 35, and to provide advice on how awards should be chosen and the types of events they would like to see developed. It would be useful for volunteers to have some experience with setting criteria for achievement awards. The group will wrap up its work in the fall of 2013. If you are interested in this volunteer opportunity, please send an e-mail outlining why your experience would be valuable to Brigitte Gilmore (Administrative Assistant to the Director, Communications) at bgilmore@apega.ca by April 8^th.

Electrical Engineering Clothing Sale

Throughout the week, the Electrical Engineering Club will be selling clothing at a table in the ETLC atrium. There will be hoodies for $50, T-shirts for $20, toques for $15, and scarves for $15.

Just a reminder that this Saturday (March 30th at midnight) is the deadline to purchase tickets to the chemical engineering graduation banquet. Tickets can be purchased online or in person.
