Professional Development

As the faculty association for all undergraduate engineering students at the University of Alberta, the Engineering Students’ Society feels a need to help students relate to the engineering profession, and develop the appropriate skills once they’re there.
APEGGA Tech Mixers
Held twice a year, the APEGGA Tech Mixers bring out engineering students and professionals to meet one another and mingle on a more casual level.
APEGGA Soft Skills Seminars
Strong soft skills help make an engineer a stronger person in all aspects of life. With APEGGA, the Engineering Students’ Society holds soft skill seminars on topics ranging from interview skills and powerful presentations to financial responsibility.
First Year Motivational Mixer
Feeling that the pressure of first year Engineering is keeping you down? Exams didn’t go so well? Well, things will get better, and the First Year Motivational Mixer is here to help! The point of the FYMM is to help show first year engineering students that things will get better, that a bad mark on an exam is not the end of the world, and that it’s okay to have fun once in a while.
