The deadline for submissions is Friday, April 12th. The winner will receive a sweet prize, and runners-up will be rewarded for entering as well. You may enter as many designs as you wish, so start brainstorming!
Design Specifications
The printed handbook will measure 5.5 inches wide by 8.5 inches tall. To accommodate for shifting at the printer, a quarter-inch bleed should be included, for a total submission size of 6 by 9 inches. (The bleed area is cut off after printing, so it should not be factored in when positioning elements.) Because the coil takes up about a quarter inch, text and logos on the cover should only be present in the inner 5 by 8 inch area.
Your cover design should be produced at a minimum resolution of 300 PPI. Please keep all fonts, backgrounds, and original files used in your submission so changes can be made if requested.
The cover must include the ESS logo with name, as well as the ESS website address. It must also include the title (Engineers’ Handbook) as well as the school year (2013-2014). Please contact handbook@ess.ualberta.
